You can google this and come up with lots of options and places to help you make your own Wedding Website. After looking around at different sites for a bride, We decided to let you know what we found and what we liked. Before deciding where to go and who to use you need to think about what it is you want to share with friends and family.![]()
Do you just want to post the date and time, maybe a link to your gift registry, and a little about your story? If so, then look to something simple and cheap. The Knot has 40 simple designs that you can set up for free! Another good idea is to set up a blog. The best place to go to set up a free blog is blogger or wordpress.
Maybe you want a little more upscale look–Can you say Flash?!
For a nice flash website (not just a flash intro) check out wedOrama.com. You will also see some added features like color customization, up to 18 pages, and adding music. The cost is $70 for one year and does include your own domain name. (like www.stephandscott.com) If you are a wordy person and have lots to say then I don’t like this quite as much as the next two options, but some are really sold on all the flash. You will have to decide what look you are going for and if you want to sacrifice on some options.
These last two options, Wedding Window or WedShare, I really like for what is behind the scenes as well as the site itself. Wedding Window is my favorite of the two just because I like the designs more, but the features are almost identical. The designs on Wedding Window are nice not amateurish looking, but very nice. I counted 23 designs, but really with all the customization options multiplies greatly. You can make unlimited pages and even password protect some pages. For example, you can set up a page just for your bridesmaids. You can password protect it so you can post info just for them and not for all your guests to see. You can set up a blog with an rss feed. You can manage your rsvp’s with the software that is behind the scenes. You can do this with some of the other websites, but you can import and export into Excel which is really great! The features are really too much to list here, you’ll need to go to their respective websites to read it all. The cost for WedShare for one year is $99 and this does include your own domain name. Wedding Window is $79 for one year, but if you want your own domain name you’ll need to add $15…so it comes to $94 for one year. There are other pricing options available as well.
Hope this helps you narrow down the choices. As virtual assistants, Jaynne & Company can set up and maintain your wedding website or blog if you need help.
